Trouble in Paradise (2004) is a real-life drama unfolding in the chaotic landscape of Florida politics over the course of a two-year period spanning from Election 2000 to Election 2002. Set amidst a backdrop of present-day events, the story follows the lives of five Floridians. Motivated by a sense of civic responsibility, they volunteer on campaigns, run for office, sue the state, and revisit the disturbing facts and unanswered questions of the historic election that changed their lives.

Touched is a journey into the lives and minds of alleged alien abductees from around the world. For the subjects of this film, this experience has resulted in a kind of Holy Grail search for truth. Beneath the sensational aspects of alien abduction, these are real people looking for answers. Touched follows a human quest to solve a mystery — perhaps only to find that the answer is the quest itself.

Our Member Clips
Women in Film & Video/New England is proud to present clips from films made by our members. From a documentary on the gay marriage debate in Massachusetts (The Gay Marriage Thing) to a look at the lives of five girls residing at a New England boarding school (Playing House) to a meditation on a father who was bigger than life (My Father, the Genius), the films made by our members touch on a wide array of engaging topics. They run the gamut from the political to the lyrical, from hard-hitting to deeply moving.
