About Us
History of the Chapter In 1981, eleven women, all Boston-based media professionals, came together to form the New England chapter of Women in Film. The founders are: Mary Benjamin, Rebecca Eaton, Raquel Ortiz, Robin Landerman, Christine Dall, Christine Herbes, Alice Hoffman, Janet Krause, Edith Luray, Midge MacKenzie, Diane Miller, Harriet Reisen, Katherine Deutch Tatlock, and Susan Steinberg-Woll. “Boston Filmmakers Form Group”

Women in Film & Video New England is a member of an umbrella group called Women in Film & Television International (WIFTI). WIFTI is a global network comprised of some 35 Women in Film chapters worldwide and more than 10,000 members dedicated to advancing professional development and achievement for women working in all areas of film, video, and other screen-based media.
